The functions of the Care Training Consortium (CTC) are diverse and comprehensive and predictably mirror the training and support needs of the independent care sector in West Sussex. To simplify its purpose succinctly:
- The CTC is a not-for-profit employer-led and learner centred organisation
- The
CTC aims to provide a single point of access and will act as a broker
to secure training and funding to support the independent care sector
in West Sussex
- The CTC seeks to support quality provision to all service users through its commitment to care sector staff development
The overall aim of the Care Training Consortium
is to support the independent care sector of West Sussex to meet the
training requirements of the National Minimum Care Standards.
To meet this aim it:
- Works
in close partnership with the independent care sector and organisations
such as the Sussex LSC, Skills for Care (formerly TOPSS), CQC, Unison,
City & Guilds, Business Link, Sussex Enterprise andstatutory
agencies
- Conducts workforce development research to map the training needs of those working within the West Sussex care sector
- Builds
links with a wide range of training providers to build quality training
capacity that meets the training and development needs of those working
within the care sector
- Bids for, and disburses funding to support identified training and development needs
- Develops quality training by identifying specific training needs and piloting programmes to address those needs.
